- Apply ethical decision-making models to trauma-focused cases in ways that support client autonomy, informed consent, safety, and readiness for treatment.
- Compare major trauma treatment approaches—such as EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Internal Family Systems, and TBRI—and recognize ethical considerations unique to each.
- Demonstrate ethical use of trauma interventions by practicing within competence, pacing treatment appropriately, avoiding re-traumatization, and making referrals when needed.
- Analyze how trauma affects memory, perception, and disclosure, and apply this understanding ethically to assessment, documentation, treatment planning, and safety planning.
- Evaluate the influence of cultural humility, diversity, and systemic factors on ethical trauma care while maintaining professional boundaries that promote safety, trust, and empowerment.
